Welcome to the Home Page of the
Ramblers
Croydon Group
The Ramblers Association is a registered charity operating both on a local and national level. It aims to encourage walking, protect and maintain rights of way, increase access to open countryside and the coast and defend the beauty of the countryside.
We are one of the largest Ramblers local groups and you are welcome to join us whether or not you live or work in Croydon.
Our activities include:
- an extensive programme of led walks on 5 days of the week, including Saturday and Sunday
- visits to places of interest
- group holidays in this country and abroad
- social events throughout the year
Most of our walks take place in the countryside of Surrey, Sussex and Kent though we sometimes walk in London and in the green spaces of Croydon.
Our short, 3-4 mile, walks offer a leisurely introduction to walking which newcomers often like and the start-point is usually accessible by bus, train or tram.
Details of our walks appear in a quarterly programme so you can plan ahead and choose those that take your fancy. You do not have to sign up for a walk, just turn up!
Do not worry about coming on your own, you will be given a warm welcome. Why not try a walk or two with us before deciding if you want to join?
Next step? Have a chat with our membership secretary, Rosemary, on 020 8660 6107 or e-mail ramblersrose@yahoo.co.uk or join the Ramblers here.
